Zelda AU WIP - Jewelry
More of this would be done tonight if I didn’t go out eating with co-workers. That’s ok, eating with co-workers was totally worth it :3
First sand/paint job! Most of the crown I couldn’t finish because it wasn’t dry all the way, and therefore not good for sanding. In the meanwhile I put on a coat of 2 types of FolkArt Gold over the clay after a nice sand, followed by the details done in some liquid gold leaf and a thin brush. Initially I was thinking of using the gold rub-n-buff on it but it made it darker, though smoother. I sanded that piece cause I just didn’t like how brown gold it got. My resin got dirty with me working with it and putting E6000 to hold all the pieces together, so that might need a fresh sand and a sprits of shininess, but as of now it doesn’t need it. Right now its cool :) Everything that’s attached is drying with E6000.
Meanwhile, the buttons I got for the vest were originally silver, so I decided to cover the plastic with some nice liquid gold leaf and give it a shot of shiny spray. Ironically- the spray made the liquid gold, even after being dry… more red? I’m not sure. But I’d prefer the shiny over the flat liquid gold leaf. Liquid gold leaf is really good though as it sticks to -fucking everything-. I had to even buy cheap ass brushes knowing they were going to be destroyed by the stuff.
Tomorrow I tackle the rest of it, put it all together, and hopefully have a complete set tomorrow when I finally tackle, you know, cutting out fabric.
Count down to Otakon
I hate myself sometimes.
Vin was worth it though :3
